The Sisseton Milbank Railroad rail line runs for 37.1 miles of track and serves a traffic base consisting largely of grains
(corn, wheat, barley and soybeans), lumber, fertilizers, and plastic pellets.  SMRR's personnel have responsibility for
day-to-day inspection and maintenance of the railroad track and locomotives.
