Employment Opportunity

Deputy Sheriff for the County of Potter, South Dakota.

Responsible for duties as a full-time deputy sheriff for Potter County working directly under the Sheriff.  Requires patrol and investigation skills.  Small two-man department in north central South Dakota near the Missouri River.  South Dakota Certified officer preferred, must meet SD certification requirements.  Hourly wage paid bi-weekly, depends upon qualifications.  Health benefits and state retirement.  Submit a standard SD L.E.T. application and/or resume for consideration.  And may be obtained from offices at 201 South Exene Street, County Courthouse, Gettysburg, SD 57442.  Position open until filled.  Call Sheriff's office at 605-765-9405.


Employment Opportunity

Emergency Manager, Potter County, part-time.

Responsible for coordination of Homeland Security programs / efforts including grants and training, with the authority to establish Emergency Operations Center in times of emergency (natural disaster, Haz Mat events, etc.).  Keep county LEOP information up to date.  Other duties as prescribed by law.  Hiring through the Potter County Board of Commissioners, application / resume through Potter County Auditor at 201 South Exene St., Gettysburg, SD 57442, (605)765-9408.
