Women of the ELCA Annual Report for 2009

Activities for the group this year included:

          Visits to the Nursing Home

                             We continue to accompany Pastor Hahn at services the second Sunday of each month.  We also provide programs and lunch for the residents on Wednesday’s in September.

          Served lunch at two funerals.

          Several members attended conventions and workshops.

Met on the second Tuesday of every month for *Bible Study, meeting and fellowship.

                   This year’s Bible Study is based on St. Paul’s letter to the Romans.

          Contributions to Lutheran World Relief

                   163 quilts

                   11 blankets

                   34 school kits

                   24 layettes

                   Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with this

          Other donations:

                   5 quilts to New Beginnings in Aberdeen

                   1 quilts to Woyaton,
                                      the Synod’s multicultural mission church in Rapid City.

                   6 quilts to The Lutheran Center at Pine Ridge

Weather permitting, we will begin this year’s quilting on Monday, January 25. Elodie Schmierer, Lydia Schlecht, and Lila Oster head the quilting project. If you have any questions about times, cancellations or wish to donate materials, please contact one of them. All are welcome to join us as we work together making something useful out of discarded clothes, drapes and other fabrics.
